Every participant needs to:
1. Register online (via our website)
2. Login to our app (using your registered email address + Order #, which you received via email)
3. Check-in to the Hunt (here you agree to our digital waiver)
4. Create a team (send invites to teammates who have already done steps 1-3. Only 1 teammate needs to send invites)
Login using your registered email and Order #, which you received via email or Facebook Messenger. You'll automatically be prompted to accept any pending invites. You may also tap on the gear icon, then 'My Team', and 'Invites'.

Inside the AdventureHunt.Co App anytime before Hunt Day. Add your teammate(s) by entering their checked-in email address. They'll receive a teammate invite within the app, not via email.

Tap on the gear icon, then tap on 'My Team', then 'Edit Team'. Here you may edit your team name. You can also change the Instagram you'd like us to check when we're verifying your team's Adventure List points. Watch video below for a step-by-step tutorial.
There are two places:
Typically 15-20 minutes, but can take longer. If your team is rejected, re-verification may take an additional 15-20 minutes, so it's important you get it right the first time.
Each treasure hunt is specifically tailored to each city. Expect 10-25 stops with some stops being close together.
You'll be solving city specific clues that'll lead you from location to location. At some locations you'll be required to complete challenges before moving onto the next clue. The app will notify you as you get closer to each stop and when you arrive at each stop.

As with all apps, you may force close/quit the app and reopen it to 'refresh' it.
You can start anywhere, however, leading up to the hunt we may send out a more centralized meeting place (typically a public park or similar) within the hunt boundaries. At 9am (local time) on Hunt Day the Adventure List will be unveiled within the App. Map out and plan what suits you best to have fun and win! For Fun Hunts, just register, open the app and start solving clues!
Some Hunts may have a suggested starting place based on nearby activities. It is not required to start there. Suggested starting points may be displayed on your city's Facebook Event Page 1-2 days before the Hunt, and may be displayed within the app on the Adventure List. For Scavenger Hunts, just register, open the app and start solving clues!

Where the treasure is buried ;)
In your city and its surrounding areas. Typically no more than 20-30 minutes outside of the city's metropolitan area.
It's a secret! Your Hunt's list of challenges will be unveiled immediately after the event starts. Some activities are worth more points than others. Skill level is not really a factor, so don't worry. Just have fun! Watch Past Hunts here. Scavenger Hunts do not have an Adventure List.
The Adventure List has several different activities to choose from and can be completed without additional costs. Some activities may cost money, but are not required. Adventure Hunt and its sponsors do not cover the cost of any activities.
The Adventure List works like a point system and consists of two sections: Fun and Adventure! Your team will need accumulate 10 points for both Fun + 10 points for Adventure. Get points by completing activities and posting them to your team's PUBLIC Instagram Story. If your team's Instagram account is set to private we will not see your stories. Once you have 10 points in each section, submit your team for verification.
Some clues will require you to complete more challenges before moving on. The necessary points for those clues will be displayed within the app.
Be prepared, bold, creative and clever. Select challenges that you feel you can complete, there is something for everyone! If a challenge requires use of a specific item, think of fun ways to complete the challenge for the points! (i.e. if you don't own a boogie board, but want to complete a boogie-boarding activity, don't buy or rent one–borrow one from a friend or even ask someone on the beach if you can use theirs for a couple minutes to take a video–just always remember to be safe, smart and follow the Rules).
No, unless otherwise specified. All teammates must be present in each activity, whether visibly or audibly.
No. Only one teammate needs to post to Instagram, but you all need to be present.
Yes! ALL clues can be solved without purchasing any hints (search google, ask friends and really think--don't expect to be able to read a clue and immediately solve it). Most teams don't use them, but if you need them, they're there. Who knows, maybe a little extra help will get you to Panama!
In the unlikely event that multiple teams are digging for and find the treasure at the same time, the treasure will be awarded to whichever team arrived there first–based on team's timestamp within the app.
Yes. However, they will not receive any prizes.
We recommend wearing comfortable active wear with a swimsuit underneath and a good pair of running shoes.

Yes, we verify your team via Instagram. It's free and easy to use. Creating an account takes less than 1 minute. It needs to be set to PUBLIC, NOT PRIVATE. If the account is private our verification team will not be allowed to view your team's posts.
Treasure Hunts can have 2, 3 or 4 team members. Have your family member or friend take their place. Check and post to your city's Facebook Event page to see if there are others in your position. Someone is almost always available.
Just like most events, all Registrations are final. We do not offer any refunds. Immediately upon registering, you receive discount codes from all our sponsors worth far more than the registration fee. Weather will never be a reason for a refund, this is a Treasure Hunt people.

Yes! Have your parent/legal guardian print, sign, and date this page then take a picture and email it to us.
That's entirely up to you! Our Hunts can be completed by almost anyone regardless of age and abilities.

When you log into the app for the first time and digitally check-in (redeem your ticket) you may change your email there. Once you change your email that will be your new login to access your Hunt.
